For many people, one of the least enjoyable elements of bodybuilding is forcing yourself to drink something that, quite frankly, tastes like crap. If you cannot stand the taste of your whey protein powder, here are 3 ways to make it taste better…
Mix it with peanut butter.
Mixing 2 scoops of chocolate flavored whey protein powder into one cup of peanut butter and 4 tablespoons of honey can make it one thousand times more palatable. Freeze the mixture on a flat tray, molding the mixture into walnut sized balls.
Try another brand.
The taste and texture in whey protein can be night and day, depending upon the brand. While not always true, costlier products typically taste a little better. You can even get your protein in the form of gummy bears.
Skip the water.
A lot of lifters will pour whey protein powder into water to save calories, but water can bring out the flavor that you hate even more. Instead, pair powder with milk which can help to mask some of the after taste.
In bodybuilding, getting the protein you need isn’t always fun, but it is well worth the trade off for getting the body that you want.
